The History of Rummy

The game of Rummy has been in existence for many years, and has come a long way from the online version that is currently taking the internet by storm. There are also many indications that the name Rummy originated in England, deriving from the word ‘rum’ which meant ‘odd’ or ‘strange’. As for the Gin part, the games were most likely enjoyed over a drink or two while participants would play Rummy, which is most likely how it became known as Gin Rummy.
